MANILA, Philippines – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has suspended the proclamation of 19 candidates until their disqualification cases are resolved, it announced on Tuesday, May 13.
The candidates are running for different local positions as well as the party list.

- Marcelino “Marcy” Teodoro: Candidate for Marikina 1st District representative at the House of Representatives
LUZON
- Menandro Bessat Buenafe: Candidate for councilor Lagangilang, Abra
- Jerryl Harold Paz Respicio: Candidate for vice mayor of Reina Mercedes, Isabela
- Christian Manuson Noveras: Candidate for governor of Aurora
- Christine Marie Manuson Noveras: Candidate for vice governor of Aurora

With the Comelec’s suspension order, even candidates who won cannot be proclaimed yet.
For instance, Respicio of Reina Mercedes, Isabela, and Teodoro of Marikina have both garnered the highest votes in the completed returns of their localities.
Teodoro beat Senator Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III, 75,062 votes versus 29,091, for Marikina 1st District representative. Teodoro, who is the outgoing mayor, asked the poll body on Tuesday to respect the “people’s collective will” and proclaim him as the winner of the congressional race. – Kaycee Valmonte with Iya Gozum/Rappler.com
